The types of Saetotricha ptychopteryx Brauer, 1865 and Chimarra loriana (Navás, 1933) have been re‐examined, described and figured, and their taxonomic position revised. A new species, Chimarra xenillion, is described from one of the syntypes of Chimarra loriana.
