A scientific demonstration of the future life.Ancient psychic phenomena.

A scientific demonstration of the future life.: Ancient psychic phenomena. In this chapter, the author argues that psychology of the science of the soul and, like every other science, it must be studied by and through the observation of the facts pertaining to the subject treated. The phenomena of the soul are what we call psychic phenomena, and the soul is the source of all psychic phenomena. The emotions of religious worship are psychic phenomena. It follows that the facts we must study, and from which we must deduce all legitimate, logical conclusion relating to the science of the soul, consist of observable psychic phenomena. To the materialistic scientist physical nature conceals all that man would know of God or of his own soul. Psychic phenomena alone reveals that knowledge. The science of the soul is, therefore, necessarily the science of religion. In this chapter, the author considers the following topics related to the science of the soul: Old Testament records; the Pentateuch; the higher criticism; the psychic history of the children of Israel (including Aaron's Rod and Moses as a psychic); the God of Moses, his human characteristics, his anger, his determination to destroy the children of Israel;, and his repentance after Moses's intervention. The chapter concludes with a discussion of the objective Moses vs the subjective Moses. Abstract

(PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2022 APA, all rights reserved)
