AbstractThis short note presents some lexical data in vernacular/semi-vernacular Arabic collected in the following Ifriqiyan sources: Manāqib Abī Isḥāq al-Jabanyānī and Manāqib Muḥriz b. Khalaf (5th/11th century). The main idea of the study is to remind the linguist and the historian of the real interest there would be in examining the textual material in vernacular/semi-vernacular Arabic from Medieval Tunisia in order to contribute to a better knowledge of the social history of linguistic habits.
