Thoughts on Comparative Civil Society Evaluation Indices Based on China's Conditions <jats:sec><jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>Over the past few decades, civil society has witnessed significant global growth. How to establish a measurement system that is able to effectively evaluate the development of civil society is an important question facing scholars from all countries. This paper will first provide an overview of the meaning behind civil society indices and those that exist today and then carry out an indepth comparison of indices, as created by the scholars Lester Salamon and Helmut Anheier.
