Editorial Jane McCarthy and Eddie Chaplin This final edition of this year contains papers addressing a wide range of issues which impacts on the lives of many autistic people. The purpose of the journal was to take a lifelong approach so embracing papers describing new developments, advances in technology and practice that affect the wellbeing of young people, adults and older autistic people. We wanted to ensure an international perspective for the Journal so that we can learn how the lives of autistic people are affected by the culture and language encompassing their everyday experiences. In encouraging the active involvement of all our readers we hope that we provide opportunities to encourage debate in an informed way on different approaches to practice. We would also like very much welcome the new member of our team, Verity Chester, who will be the Gender and Diversity Editor. We would like to send all best wishes to our readers for 2020 and we encourage submissions of papers from across the globe that reflect advances in the health, educational, occupational, social and care needs of autistic people.
