The 111ajor objectives of the project were to reviccv selected ntral credit programmes to ascertain t/1e accessibility of the rural poor to credit to idrntifi; factors tlzat co11trib11te or constrain tlze recovcn; of loans, and to suggest essential elements of viable credit programmes for the mral poor. The project comprised a researc/1 and an action research component.
