ATR/97.1 A grown man I still stretch my hand out rolled-down car windows so air can flex its vague muscle on my curled palm, waxing forth again and again till my fingers and relaxed wrist become synchronized to the pulse of a vast and nimble pneumatic interior unreeling as road unreels ahead, my hand buoyant in its foiled clutch, lured yet thwarted, drawn in, recoiled, till it earns a rhythmic vision— this groping at soul, sifting clearances, reaching till eyes on my fingertips split open. He was a finalist for a 2012 Ruth Lilly Fellowship from the Poetry Foundation and has been a fellow at the MacDowell Colony. He recently finished his M.Div. at Princeton Theo- logical Seminary and currently lives in Columbus, Ohio.
