[Culturally competent is the new mantra of today’s professional society, especially as it relates to almost every human service field. But what exactly does it mean to be culturally competent? How does one measure cultural competence? Is everyone capable of truly being culturally competent? Is it quantitatively or qualitatively measured? Is there another term to use? These are just some questions surrounding the culturally competent movement; yet, they are critical in grasping the magnitude of meeting the needs of diverse individuals in the United States of America.
