[At the Sikh Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Gurmat education is one of the main components of the teaching–learning process. Such a pedagogy instils basic religious values and attitudes among the students. They learn to follow these aspects in their daily life. It becomes a yardstick to evaluate themselves as well as their acts. The role of Sikh religious organizations and teachers remains paramount in this endeavour. The presence of a Gurdwara also acts as a catalyst in nurturing religious identities. Gendered identities get further infused with girls learning to become ideal Sikh women. Such and many other dimensions that craft the habitus of students have been discussed in this chapter.]
