The aim of this paper is to check the applicability of methodology presented in Eurocode 3 regarding the calculation of critical buckling pressure of metallic cylindrical silo shells with corrugated walls and vertical open-sectional stringers, by comparison with the numerical calculation and to highlight the influence of ribs on the silo buckling strength. In finite element (FE) calculations, the cylindrical shells were loaded by uniform external pressure. Linear buckling analyses (LBA) were performed considering the perfect shells under global buckling in accordance with Eurocode assumptions.
