Abstract
[Safety is a blessing; this is a plain creed in the life of the Chinese people. Safety is a blessing; this is a plain creed in the life of the Chinese people. When social development enables the people to go beyond the state of seeking survival, adequate food and clothing, the people have higher expectations about safety. When safety has increasingly become the people’s important need, the fundamental significance of safety, which is an important part of the people’s well-being, has become more prominent. Zhejiang officially vowed to build a safe Zhejiang in 2004. Now, more than ten years have elapsed. How does the development towards greater safety promote the building of a harmonious Zhejiang? What are the good practices and experience in building a safe Zhejiang? What inspirations from the building of a safe Zhejiang are available for our current social governance and modernization? These questions are discussed in this chapter.]
