[Genetic engineering technology has been employed for a long time to enhance the quantity and quality of a product and produce the desired product from an organism. As a critical biotechnological tool, genetic engineering and modifications have solved problems like food security, biofuel production, etc. Additionally, these methods have also been employed to design novel biological systems by modifying the existing ones by either introducing transgenes or reconstructing the present genetic makeup. This chapter describes the different methods like nuclear transformation, biolistic transformation, electroporation, sonoporation, etc., which have been employed to manipulate the genetic constitution of organisms and applications of these methods.]
