Editorial Journal of Classification 32:143-144 (2015) DOI: 10.1007/s00357-015-9183-1 I am excited to be taking over as Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Classification, becoming the third Editor after Phipps Arabie and Willem Heiser. I am extremely grateful that the Board of Directors of the Classifi- cation Society has shown confidence in me, and as Editor, I intend to maintain the exemplary standards established by Willem in his tenure. Additionally, I will strive to continue the expansion of the purview of the Journal of Classification to cover all topics in modern classification research. In the next issue, I will announce the constituency of the Editorial Board that will be helping guide the journal under my tenure. It is truly an honor to assume the mantle of editorship of what has been and continues to be the journal that publishes articles that have provided some of the most insight and influence in my own research career. While this is the first issue under my editorship, I note that all the papers herein were accepted by Willem.
