Journal of Classification 25:1-2 (2008) DOI: 10.1007/s00357-008-9000-1 A premier noteworthy development is that the Journal of Classifi- cation has, since February 2008, been using a fully electronic submission and reviewing process. Authors and reviewers can now go to http://www.editorialmanager.com/clas/ to use our new Online Manuscript Submission, Review and Tracking System. Old manuscripts (and resub- missions) are still handled with paper-mail and e-mail, but all new manu- scripts are processed via the online system. Our human editorial assistant Sascha Hesse at the usual e-mail address, JoC@Fsw.LeidenUniv.nl, can help with any questions or troubles that you might encounter in the beginning. Also note the conference announcement in this issue for the meeting of the International Federation of Classification Societies (IFCS-2009), which is timely in view of the early deadline for Abstracts (November 3, 2008). For the first time a Special Issue of Journal of Classification is planned, featuring expanded versions of papers that are presented at the IFCS conference.
