[Geographers enjoy advantages of participating in sustainability-relevant studies. In marked contrast to other sub-disciplines in Geography, the development of economic geography has surprisingly retreated from the environmental issues during past decades. This chapter discusses the necessity of developing and practising Environmental Economic Geography (EEG). This chapter also demonstrates that the development of China during the past decades provides an excellent opportunity to practice EEG. In the end, this chapter provides an overview of this book in practising EEG.]
