Manufactured in The Netherlands. The National Research Council of Canada is the largest, and possibly the most diverse of the federally sponsored research and development organizations in Canada. It has a staff of over 3,000 people employed in more than 16 institutes and branches located in different cities and towns across Canada from coast to coast. It also has a large team of industrial technology advisors located in regional offices in all the provinces and territories. The NRC supports a program of in-house laboratory research, a large part of which is conducted in collaboration with external organizations in Canada and abroad, and including industry, universities and other government agencies. It also operates the Canada Institute for Scientific and Technical Information (CISTI), and the Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP). CISTI serves as the national science library, while IRAP provides many forms of advice and assistance to industry, and especially to small and medium sized enterprises engaged in research and development.
