He is now a Member of the Austrian Parliament and was elected President of the non-party Foreign Policy and United Nations Association of Austria in December 2008. From 1995 to 2000 he had been Vice- Chancellor and Minister for Foreign Affairs in the coalition government formed by the Austrian Social Democratic Party and the People’s Party und Chancellor Franz Vranitzky. Eva Luksaite is a recent graduate from the University of Edinburgh, where she received her Masters Degree in Social Anthropology. Her research interests include anthropology of the body, gender and migration, projects of citizenship, biopolitics and development. Her current research project focuses on son preference, discrimination of daughters and declining sex ratio in tribal Rajasthan, India. Luksaite holds a BA in Political Science from Vilnius University, Institute of International Relations and Political Science in Lithuania.
