Vermicomposting is a biological technique for better utilization of organic waste to more useful, productive, and environmentally friendly resources. An attempt has been made to compile the list of earthworm species suitable for the vermicomposting purpose, received for identification from different vermicomposting units and literature, which led to the record of 34 species under 19 genera and 8 families. A key for the identification of all the 34 species is included along with their distributional records.
