The mapping population consisting of 141 recombinant inbred lines derived from a cross between K850 and WR315 were evaluated for six yield and yield attributing traits over two seasons (2012 and 2013 rabi) at experimental plot located at Zonal Agricultural Research Station (ZARS), University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Bengaluru, India. A total of nine quantitative trait loci (QTLs), were identified for three traits. Among nine QTLs, two QTLs for seed yield plant−1 during 2012, one QTL for plant height and two QTLs for 100 seed weight were identified during 2013. Further in pooled data, four QTLs were identified of which one QTL each for plant height and seed yield plant−1 and two QTLs for 100 seed weight explaining a variance of 10.47, 16.53, 18.78 and 24.38%, respectively. Among nine QTLs mapped, two major QTLs one each for seed yield plant−1 (GSSR 50–TA 72) and 100 seed weight (TA 72–GSSR 41) were identified and pooled in 2012 and the QTLs explained a variance of 26.73 and 24.38% respectively.
