[Meta-analysis is a statistical method allowing to combine results of two or more studies. A well-designed, planned, and performed systematic review of the literature is a fundamental prerequisite in performing meta-analysis. The present chapter will analyze all the processes involved in the development of a meta-analysis in order to make the reader able to correctly understand and interpret the results.
