[Ever since the reform and opening-up, the basic economic system of China has undergone profound changes: from unitary public ownership to public ownership playing a dominant role and different economic sectors developing side by side; from unitary distribution according to work to distribution according to the contribution of production factors; from a highly centralized planned economy to a socialist market economy; and from a closed and semi-closed society to all-around opening-up. It is difficult for the traditional political economics based on the labor theory of value to explain the reform of the basic economic system. Abstract

[Ever since the reform and opening-up, the basic economic system of China has undergone profound changes: from unitary public ownership to public ownership playing a dominant role and different economic sectors developing side by side; from unitary distribution according to work to distribution according to the contribution of production factors; from a highly centralized planned economy to a socialist market economy; and from a closed and semi-closed society to all-around opening-up. It is difficult for the traditional political economics based on the labor theory of value to explain the reform of the basic economic system.
