Krzanowski set out to produce a book that would be a useful refer- ence for researchers who have avoided statistical methodology, once em- braced it but have since had little time to devote to keeping up with current methods, and the developing researcher who is timid when it comes to the mathematical and theoretical proofs that often accompany statistics text- books and, without question, he accomplished the task. Each chapter is divided into sections, first, introducing the concept with historical refer- ences and framing them to allow the reader to appreciate the importance and usefulness of the methods. Then in the subsequent sections, he breaks down the method into manageable parts that can be comprehended in short intervals and at a surprisingly deep level that leaves the reader with some statistical theory as background with a more comprehensive understanding of the material even if the reader is trying to avoid it.
