A.A.S.W. 6th Biennial Conference 26 FORUM THE SIXTH BIENNIAL CONFERENCE IN THE MOUNT LozrV RANGES a few miles from Adelaide, South Australia, the Australian Association of Social Workers held its Sixth Biennial Conference from August 16th- 20th, 1957. As the first residential and entirely domestic conference arranged by the Association it was characterised by the informal friendliness, energy and en- thusiasm with which it was conducted. The theme, "Education for Social Work," produced excellent papers all given by members of the Association, and closely knit sustained discussion which demonstrated the interest and sense of responsibility of the general membership for this subject which is of such vital importance for the profession of social work. About 80 social workers attended the Conference, representing every Australian State and the Federal Territory, and the Federal President served as President of the Conference. The host State, the South Australian Branch, earned the appreciation of every member for its generous and efficient organisation and hospitality. BRITISH NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF SOCIAL WORK "CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE" was the theme of the British National Con- ference of Social Work which was held in Edinburgh in August.
