A Review of the Medicinal Properties, Phytochemical and Biological Active Compounds of Tinospora sinensis (Lour.) Merr.

A Review of the Medicinal Properties, Phytochemical and Biological Active Compounds of Tinospora... AbstractPlants are biologically important for human beings and animals in the world serving the purpose of food, fodder and medicine. Phytomedicine is the oldest known system of medicine from the Indian subcontinent. This mini-review summarizes the current knowledge on the phytochemical and pharmacological properties of Tinospora sinensis (Lour.) Merr. and the use of various parts in many diseases from fever, jaundice to human malignant cancer. The isolated compounds like Tinosineside, Tinocordifolioside, malabaroliode, Tinosporaside, 1-deacetyltinosporaside, 4-hydroxyl-heptadec-6-enoic acid, cordicoside, synergin, palmatine, diosgenin, daucasterol, columbin, β-setosterol, 20b-hydroxyecdysone,berbarine which may be helpful in futuristic use. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Journal of Biologically Active Products from Nature Taylor & Francis
