Abstract A revision of Similipepsis violaceus Le Cerf, 1911 as well as redescriptions of both Similipepsis Le Cerf, 1911 and Similipepsini Spatenka, Lastuvka, Gorbunov, Tosevski & Arita are presented. A new genus, Milisipepsis, gen. n. is erected for Similipepsis takizawai Arita & Spatenka, 1989. This new genus contains 4 species from both Palearctic and Oriental regions: M. takizawai (Arita & Spatenka, 1989), comb, n., M. yunnanensis (Spatenka & Arita, 1992), comb, n., M. lasiocerus (Hampson, 1919), comb, n., and M. bicingulatus (Gorbunov & Arita, 1995), comb. n.
