Action de Différents Facteurs sur le Nombre de Stades Larvaires Chez la Noctuelle de la Tomate Helicoverpa Armigera Hbn.

Action de Différents Facteurs sur le Nombre de Stades Larvaires Chez la Noctuelle de la Tomate... SUMMARY Caterpillars of H. armigera generally have 5 to 6 stages, more rarely 7 to 8 and exceptionally 9 (types 5, 6.‥ 9). A comparative study of the two most common types of development has been carried out at different temperatures; nutrition, photoperiod, strain, number of previous generations in the laboratory, have also considered and interactions of these factors are defined. The appearance of types 7 to 9 indicates a decrease of vigour. A degeneration also appears in strains which have been strickly inbreeded. The value of the type of development as a criterium for the vigour of the strain has thus been established. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Annales de la Société entomologique de France (N S ) Taylor & Francis

A comparative study of the two most common types of development has been carried out at different temperatures; nutrition, photoperiod, strain, number of previous generations in the laboratory, have also considered and interactions of these factors are defined. The value of the type of development as a criterium for the vigour of the strain has thus been established.
