An interesting experiment Tho oxperimont began roughly two months ago. when two groups of social workers sat down to discuss a plan to hold discussion groups within the Association. The disoussion groups were to be instramental in achieving at least four alms. In addition to providing personal contact in a purely social manner, the groups were to encourage the interchange of opinions among mEmbers which is often difficult to achieve at general moetings, thircUy the groups were to have an educational value within the Association, and fourthly were a possible means of contact with peopleoutslde the Association. > The practica.l scheme which was worked out was along these lines. DlsC\lssion groups were to be held twioe a month, membership being 11m!ted in eaoh_group to abOllt ten. Two types of discussion were both approved, the series and the one-night discussion. As an important aspect of the groups is to encourage all members to participate, it was decided that within each group mem'bors should take their turn both in leading the evenings discussion and in mek1ng a report of this.
