Summary The grasshopper Catantops haemorrhoidalis is a pest of minor status for crops in West Africa. Researches carried out during the PRIFAS project (Programme de Recherches Interdisciplinaire Français sur les Acridiens du Sahel. French Interdisciplinary Research Programme on Sahelian Locusts and Grasshoppers) added to bibliographie data allowed to present a monographic paper on this species: identification, distribution area, ecological requirements, biological cycle and its variations in space and time, economic importance.
