This exquisite little book is an enticing and delightful presentation of investigations into the findspots of Bronze Age artefacts around Stockholm in eastern Sweden within a study area 160 km N-S by 175 km E-W. Rundkvist sets out to identify ‘Bronze Age rules of landscape’ through examination of a large dataset of bronze and stone artefact locations and, in a short, beautifully succinct text of just 53 pages, achieves his aim. The remainder of the book consists of a gazetteer of sites, a bibliography, an appendix of illustrations of finds and maps of findspots, a catalogue of sites with known locations, and a catalogue of finds with less certain locations.
