Résumé Le développement embryonnaire du Phasme Clitumnus extradentatus Brunner dure environ 46 jours dans le cas des œufs fécondés, incubés à 26 °C. Nous proposons sa division en 7 stades: I, apparition de l'ébauche embryonnaire initiale - II, formation de la bandelette embryonnaire - III, ségrégation des premiers segments abdominaux - IV, formation du repli abdominal, creusement du proctodeum, ségrégation des plaques optiques - V, ségrégation des articles des pattes - VI, fermeture dorsale de l'embryon - VII, pigmentation du corps. Chacun de ces stades est lui-même subdivisé en sous-stades, essentiellement séparés grâce à des critères de morphologie externe repérables in vivo, sous un stéréomicroscope.
