Summary (*) Our contribution XIII is devoted to the biotaxonomic study of the Blaesoxypha grylloctona Loew 1861 in the sense of Villeneuve 1911. The difficulties we have met in this investigation have led us to improve the conception and application of the experimental method of rearing these parasites. This method being necessary to realize the right specific linkage of both sexes and the filiation of various larvous and adult stages. By this method we have achieved to define this species valuably and to distinguish it from gladiatrix (Pandellé) Villeneuve 1911, with which it was most of the time confused in the literature and collections. The ♂ particularly are so similar on the morphological plane that the specific meaning of the few minor differences between them had to be proved by biological tests. A critic examination of the bibliography has been done, the synonimic and nomenclatural problems discussed over. The male and female adults are described, the genitalia represented on scanning pictures. The main data of biology and ecology — established up to now — are reported. This Blaesoxipha is a parasite on Chorthippus (bicolor, mollis, longicornis) and Omocestus ventralis in the regions of continental plains and in the montains. This study, through a particular difficult case-significant though - has allowed us to give our opinion on what should be the rigor of the investigation method and of the quality of the descriptions, if we want to open the way of real progress on the knowledge of these interesting entomophagous insects.
