SUMMARY Descamps, M. & Amedegnato, C.: Acridoidea of Colombia. Missions M. Descamps. I. Genera Syntomacris Walker, 1870 and Pseudococama, nov. The genus Syntomacris is remarkable by its structural uniformity as well as for its chromatic diversity. The genitalia have been studied in 4 newly described species from Colombia and the French Guiana; they show a considerable range of interspecific variation. A key for identification of the known species is given and a new genus (Pseudococama) is described. Both genera are close and strictly Amazonian in distribution; they include neatly thamnophilus species which are very abundant in the forest, on bushes of the outskirts, in the small glades and on the regrowth of copse wood.
