SUMMARY Descamps, M. & Amedegnato, C.: Acridoidea of Colombia. (Missions M. Descamps). II. Genera Taeniophora Stål 1873 and Megacephalacris nov. Ten species were known in the genus Taeniophora; eight more have been added after the study of the material collected in Colombia. These 18 species can be distributed in 2 genera: Taeniophora Stal 1878 and the new genus Megacephalacris. Keys for identification of these species are given before the description of the new ones. In this new acceptance Taeniophora includes 13 species three of which only being known from a country other than Columbia. These insects live on warm grounds (tierras calientes) from Costa Rica to Ecuador; a few species represent the genus in the Andian valleys of Colombia and on the edge of the Amazonian basin. Megacephalacris is a more strictly Andian genus than Taeniophora; it includes at present 5 species, close to Ommatolampis pugnax Gerstaecker 1873; 4 of them come from Colombia and 1 from Panama.
