Summary Adults and larvae of Dicrodiplosis manihoti, sp. n. are described and illustrated on the basis of specimens from the Congo Republic and Senegal. Larvae feed as predators in egg masses of the cassava mealybug, Phenacoccus manihoti Matile-Ferrero, on cassava, Manihot esculenta Crantz. Dicrodiplosis? manihoti, possibly a sibling species associated with other species of Pseudococcidae, is recorded from Iran, Iraq and Israel and the geographical distributions and host ranges of all known species of Dicrodiplosis are summarised on a world basis.
