Discussion group papers on professional ethics

Discussion group papers on professional ethics The Roman Catholic Church plans for 50 girls to be accommodated at Lazarus House, East Camberwell; these children will be recruited from Catholic Homes in England. The Church of England intends to bring out 46 boys who will be trained with 16 Australian lads at st. Hubert's Farm, Yering, and St.John's Home, Canterbury, hopes to pro vide accommodation for another 12 boys. The presbyterians propose to build cottage homes at Kildonan with accommodation for 125 and have another plan for care of 100 boys at a rural training school at Tatura. The Methodists also propose to build accommodation for 100 children at Wattle park. All these children will be under legal guidance of the Children'S Welfare Department, and it is said that this Department is to take an active part in the supervision of the children's welfare and to assist in plans for their future. It is contemplated that Austral ians coming into contact with these children may wish to arrange for adoption. This could be done with the approval of the Children's Welfare Department, who are supposed to make full investigations as to the suitability of the adopting parents. No plans have been made by the state Government http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Australian Journal of Social Work Taylor & Francis
