Galligan Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts This issue of The Journal of Arts Management, Law, and Society continues the exploration of the international, as well as national and regional, aspects of arts and cultural policy. It focuses on arts districts, cultural tourism, and the management of the arts; it also explores the role of oral history by some of the most important playwrights from an earlier time of turmoil and dissent. The journal examines how factors not always apparent to those unfamiliar with the inner workings of a network or field, but who may be participants, customers, or scholars exploring it from another perspective or discipline, may approach things from a wide range of vantage points and come to a divergence of conclusions. How the wide variety of political, social, and artistic actors responds to these changes is at the heart of this issue.
