Abstract

Abstract In my paper on the Germanic and High Germanic consonant shifts above I raise the objection to ND-N's 1975 and 1976 papers that the author does not even consider the possibility of analyzing his English speech error material in terms of transposition of distinctive features. I still find (despite ND-N's reply above) that the material in question is open to more than one interpretation, and it was a chief aim of my contribution to draw attention to this.
