Graduate Diplomas in Social Work Seventeen Months
Abstract
The institution of seventeen-month postgraduate social work courses in Australia, in 1965 in the University of Western Australia and a year later at Flinders University, was not greeted by the Australian Association of Social Workers with unmixed pleasure. Three years later, with the intake of our fourth group of students, it seems timely to describe the experiment and to attempt to assess its advantages and disadvantages as they have emerged up to the present time.
