INDUSTRIAL AGGLOMERATION OF TAIWANESE ELECTRONICS FIRMS IN DONGGUAN, CHINA: A TOWN-LEVEL ANALYSIS Abstract The agglomeration of Taiwanese electronics firms in Dongguan of southern China has attracted considerable attention from both academics and policy makers over the past decade. However, existing studies of the geographical concentration of Taiwanese electronics firms in Dongguan have primarily been based on qualitative analyses. Based on some firm-level statistics, the Ellison and Glaeser (EG) index has been calculated in this paper to explore quantitatively the agglomeration of Taiwanese electronics firms in Dongguan.
