Abstract
Summary This work is based on the study of the male genitalia and phallosome of about 1000 Hystrichopsylla. The authors isolate from H. t. talpae (Curtis) a new taxon H. t. alpina, ssp. nov. from the French Alps and the Swiss Valais, and they describe H. t. ibera, ssp. nov. from the province of Salamanca (Spain). The male, yet unknow, of H. t. riouxi Beaucournu & Rosin (from Morocco) it also studied. The distribution of the various Hystrichopsylla of the West Mediterranean Region is discussed.
