Summary Addition of nine species to the genus Negrea Mateu established en 1968 for a single species, N. scutellaris (Dejean). Four of these species are described in the present paper, the genus being divided into two subgenera: Negrea s. str. and Reichardtia, nov. A dichotomic key is given and remarks are made on the biogeography of the Negrea and their neotropical repartition in Central and South America. The phylogeny of the group and its affinities with more or less related genera of Lebiens are at last briefly considered.
