SUMMARY The genus Pogonostoma [Col. Cicindelidae] Revision and description of new species The malagasy genus Pogonostoma Klug [Col. Cicindelidae Ctenostomini] is presented in this review, divided in six sub-genera, three of wich being new: Pogonostoma s. str., Microgeniatum, novum, Leptopogonum, novum, Bathypogonum Jeannel, Mitopogon, novum, Microstenocera Jeannel. All species known to this day are presented, most of them with a commentary. Five subspecies or varieties have been promoted to the rank of species. There is a description of nineteen new species, some from recent field work and others from research in the Museum of Paris where they were unlabeled and often mistaken for others. Our knowledge of the genus Pogonostoma is certainly still far from complete since every year new discoveries are made and since in some species only a few specimens are known.
