Summary Taxonomical study of the European Megaspilids (Hym. Ceraphronoidea Megaspilidae) parasites of Syrphid puparia (Dipt. Syrphidae), i. e. Tricnosteresis glabra (Boheman, 1832), Dendrocerus puparum (Boheman, 1832) and Conostigmus obscurus (Thomson, 1858); a close species, with unknown ethology, is also described: Conostigmus speculiger sp. nov. All available types of Trichosteresis species have been revised, bringing to the conclusion that this genus is monospecific and strictly parasite of Syrphids, despite the description of fifteen species (most synonyms, some not congeneric) and several hosts; Trichosteresis glabra (Boheman) is world-spread (Europe; North America; Japon; North and South Africa).
