Lord Beveridge's latest report is on voluntary action published in 1948 In Relation to the 'Allied Professions: At the moment there is need for a high degree of co~operation between many professions interest­ ed in promoting the welfare of the individual client. It is suggested that fonnal rules be established so that communications between professions can be made without mistrust or suspicion. Co­ op8ration would be aided by each profession understanding the nature cf work done by other professions, but this is a gradual process, based on achievement. In Relation to the Employing Agency: The social worker should follow the practice of other professions and should observe the rules of honesty with his employers concerning his actions. He should refrain from pUblic criticism of the policy and personality of hi s. employer, but should not permit his employers to force him into unethical or dishonest procedures.
