Media discourses of territorial disputes in Japan This paper deconstructs Japanese media discourses of Japan’s territorial disputes in selected newspapers in English – namely The Asahi Shimbun, The Japan News and The Japan Times from 2002 to 2018. Embedded in critical geopolitics, content and discourse analyses were conducted with the lexicostatistical tool AntConc, using articles available in the LexisNexis and Kikozu II Visual databases.
