PAUL, MINNESOTA, WEBSITE: http://naaee. org/pages/conferences/2006.html The North American Association for Environmental Education will hold its 35th annual conference, “Gathering at the Headwaters: Building EE in Society,” from October 10–14, 2006 in St. Paul, Minnesota. The con- ference strives to demonstrate the relevance of environmental educa- tion (EE) in the educational system and in natural resource conserva- tion. It also explores potential ways to integrate EE in all aspects of our society. The conference revolves around five strands: 1. Sustainability strand, which focuses on the need to accept ecological, economic and social limits to advancement, understanding sustain- ability, and applying it in our daily lives. 2. Conservation and community education that focuses on innovative environmental education, communication, and social marketing cam- paigns that provide children and adults with positive experiences with natural spaces. 3. EE leadership skills strand focuses on the key leadership skills such as strategy planning, fund-raising, and communication that are needed to bring people together, succeed, and make organizations grow. 4.
