Summary M. J. Faucheux: Vulnerative and sensory organs of the proboscis of the Tabanidae (Ochrops fulvus Mg., Tabanus bovinus L., Chrysops caeecutiens L., Chrysozona pluvialis L.); sexual dimorphism. In the females of the four species studied, the mandibles and the maxillae perform respectively the roles of a file and a saw. At its distal extremity, the epipharynx has two sensory mamillae, the composition in sensiles differing according to the sex of the insect. In the two sexes, the food canal comprises seven pairs of sensilla of which role is probably gustative.
