Quelques Aspects du Comportement de prise de Nourriture chez la larve de Locusta Migratoria... SUMMARY Some aspects of the feeding behaviour in the larva of Locusta migratoria migratorioides R. & F. The reaction of Locusta larvae towards some plants is to refuse them, immediately after biting; this reaction is probably controlled by chemoreceptor sensilla located on the incisive area of the mandibles. The results obtained here and in previous studies by the author incited him to try to present a pattern of the feeding behaviour of migratory locust larvae. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Annales de la Société entomologique de France (N S ) Taylor & Francis

Abstract

SUMMARY Some aspects of the feeding behaviour in the larva of Locusta migratoria migratorioides R. & F. The reaction of Locusta larvae towards some plants is to refuse them, immediately after biting; this reaction is probably controlled by chemoreceptor sensilla located on the incisive area of the mandibles. The results obtained here and in previous studies by the author incited him to try to present a pattern of the feeding behaviour of migratory locust larvae.
