Summary R. M. Quentin & A. Villiers: Revision of the African and Malagasy Hopliderina [Col. Cerambycidae Prioninae]. This paper is constituted by the revision of the africano-malagasy species of the present subtribe Hopliderina Gilmour, 1956. The types of all taxa were studied, which allowed to recognize four genera: Derelophis , nov. gen.: reticulatus (Lameere); viettei, n. sp. Hoplidosterus Gilmour: laevicollis (Pascoe); confectus (Lameere). Hoplideres Serville: spinipennis Serville; laevipennis Lameere; punctatus, n. sp.; aquilus Coquerel; curtipes, n. sp. Pixodarus Fairmaire: nyassae (Bates); exasperatus, n. sp. Keys to genera and species are given and some synonymies are established: Hoplidosterus laevicollis (Pascoe) = Hoplidosterus pubicollis Gilmour. Hoplideres spinipennis Serville subsp. spinipennis Serville = H. rugicollis Waterhouse; = H. boppei Lameere; = H. neclarus Gilmour. Hoplideres spinipennis Serville subsp. parallelus Lameere = H. vermicularis Lameere; = H. intermedius Lameere. The genus Pixodarus Fairmaire, the only African representative of the tribe, is validated and two forms are described: P. exasperatus exasperatus and P. exasperatus inflatus.
