Summary North-African species of the genus Malthinus with seriate-punctuate elytra are revised from the study of the typical materials of the authors and their collections preserved in Paris' natural History Museum, and from an abundant personal material. The present paper includes an introduction with biological account, two keys of identification by external characters and by male genitalia, a synonymic account, and records of the whole revised material. Lectotypes and paralectotypes are designated in the course of the work. Three new species are described: Malthinus dogueti, from eastern Algeria; Malthinus cartennaeensis, from western Algeria and Malthinus peyerimhoffi, from Morocco's Hight Atlas. Among the 35 “species” described by authors, only 13 are maintained in the status of species, the other ones are synonyms.
